We have 3 new exciting opportunities available within our Global Social Enterprise programme.  These roles can be based from any of our UK offices; Manchester, London, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Belfast.

The Global Social Enterprise programme sits in the Society team alongside programmes on civil society, stability and women and girls’ empowerment. Active in 25 countries our Global Social Enterprise programme shares the UK’s experience of social enterprise and social investment globally in order to enable sustainable solutions to social and environmental challenges and improve people's lives. It promotes positive social change, inclusive growth and sustainable development while also sharing learning and building trust between the UK and other countries.    

SENIOR CONSULTANT, SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
Indefinite Contract

Payband 8


The Senior Consultant is responsible for a large programme/ programme strand or managing the development and/or delivery of a number of projects and/or a critical enabling area of work. The successful individual will support the Principal Consultant with growing internal capability and growing the intellectual capital and portfolio through identifying opportunities, writing and winning external proposals, and/or internal proposals and business cases. The role holder will broaden relationships with internal and/or external partners and clients including negotiation with consultants and partners. The individual in this role requires a track record in developing and delivering projects or paid/internal services, managing the whole process from opportunity to closure.   

Skills and experience required:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent by experience
  • Broad knowledge and experience of social enterprise and investment in the UK and internationally, and more generally the area of inclusive economic development
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of inclusive economic growth through one of the following: policy and government engagement; capacity building and education systems; research and thought leadership
  • Experience of project design and delivery, particularly working with donors/clients with experience at all stages of the project cycle
  • Experience of working with clients, particularly major donors and/or funding partners
  • Strong writing skills, with specific experience of writing and/or contributing to technical proposals for donors and funders.
  • Specialist skills and experience in monitoring and evaluation systems or marketing and communications are desirable.

CONSULTANT, SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
Indefinite Contract

Payband 7 / £26,406 - £33,112 + Benefits

The Consultant will be responsible for managing a strand of a larger programme/ project and/or a number of small projects and/or part of a critical enabling area of work. The role holder will support internal capability growth and will support business development through sharing knowledge and contribute to writing parts of bids and/or internal proposals or business cases. The successful applicant requires a track record in developing and delivering projects or paid/internal services.

Skills and experience required:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent by experience
  • Knowledge and skills of social enterprise and investment in the UK and/or internationally
  • Experience of project design and delivery at all stages of the project cycle
  • Strong writing skills, with specific experience of writing and/or contributing to technical proposals for donors and funders.
  • Good office administration experience including in financial policies and systems
  • Excellent communication / stakeholder management skills
  • Specialist skills and experience in monitoring and evaluation systems or marketing and communications are desirable.

 

 

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE - PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR 
2 Year Fixed Term Contract.

Payband 6 / £19,857 - £24,271 + Benefits

This is an exciting opportunity to support all aspects of the work of the Social Enterprise team and the successful applicant will be the first point of contact for our stakeholders in the UK. Day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to:- organising travel and visas for social enterprise experts and practitioners; preparing guest lists and making arrangements for internal and external events; creating and processing purchase orders and invoices; capturing data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and assisting with Social Enterprise department communications including social media and website.             

                          
Skills and experience required:

  • Experience of financial procedures such as invoicing and ideally, using SAP
  • Experience of organising travel and events
  • Having a knowledge of and interest in the UK's Social Enterprise movement.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with varied levels of stakeholders
