About the role:

They are seeking an experienced and committed learning facilitator with relevant child development experience to develop and deliver homework clubs and parent and baby groups on a part time basis at the London prison HMP Pentonville.

The Homework Club is an intervention put in place for the purpose of improving outcomes for the children of those affected by imprisonment who are at risk of higher levels of mental health problems and attain lower than expected levels of school achievement. This model helps them to identify and support children experiencing problems at school and works with the parent and child to encourage familial learning. By working to support the children through an intervention like The Homework Club, they can reduce stress and increase confidence, leading to better settling at school, parental support in school work and a sense of normality for the child, which all contribute to emotional wellbeing and better learning outcomes.

You will have experience in working with families in a challenging environment and be able to relate sensitively to prisoners and their families.

What they offer:

The organisation offers a range of benefits including free confidential counselling service, advice and guidance, spec savers eye care scheme, cycle to work, and generous holiday entitlement.
