The Organisation

The Brokerage is a social mobility charity, based in the City of London, focused on helping young Londoners from disadvantaged backgrounds access careers in financial, professional and related services. Last year they helped over 8,000 young people explore their career potential, working with over 100 corporate partners and around 200 state schools, supported by hundreds of volunteers.

It is an exciting time to be joining the charity; their work closely aligns with the government's National Careers Strategy, with demand from teachers for employer-related opportunities on the increase. Their programmes are currently broadly divided into education and talent development alongside a small fee-based recruitment service, supported by a team responsible for partnerships, income generation and marketing.

The Role

With their current Executive Director retiring in 2019, they are looking for a leader to take The Brokerage to the next stage of its development. You will help to shape and implement a new strategic plan and ensure that they are at the forefront of delivering great career opportunities for young Londoners whilst supporting corporates to deliver their CSR, recruitment, volunteering and diversity programmes. Working closely with the Head of Partnerships and Income Generation you will review and potentially increase the resource put behind awareness-raising, traditional and social media activity, fundraising and fee generation. There will also be a focus on securing larger grants and multi-year funding in order to put key programmes on a secure longer-term footing.

This opportunity would suit an experienced senior leader or director with not-for-profit experience and knowledge, looking for a Chief Executive role in a small, dynamic charity with the potential for growth.
