Make sure Special Constables get the recognition they deserve

Special Constables play a hugely important role in protecting London. In fact, many officers go above and beyond to keep the capital safe. We give these Constables the recognition they deserve at a range of ceremonial events, and we now need a Co-ordinator to ensure each one is well organised and an endorsement for the Met.

From long service awards to attestation ceremonies, we hold a variety of events for members of our 2,000-strong volunteer service. As Special Constabulary Co-ordinator, you’ll be responsible for planning each occasion; a task that involves liaising with some of the Met’s most senior leaders. It’s a rare opportunity to work with a range of contacts as part of the Citizens in Policing team. You’ll also connect with the College of Policing, other police forces and the charity sector. In addition to this, you’ll answer enquiries, advise on relevant policies and tackle administration, including diary management and stock re-ordering.

Clearly, strong organisation skills are absolutely essential. You should also be IT literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. An eye for detail will be important too, but it’s outstanding people skills that will help you succeed in this role.

To apply, please click on "visit website" to apply and download a role specific information pack. Applications will be via a detailed CV and online application form.

Completed applications must be returned by 23:55pm on 5th February 2019.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
