Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Day Support Deputy Manager 
Location: Maidstone and Rural Communities 
Contract type: Part time, Permanent 
Hours: 24 per week 
Salary: £13,446 actual per annum

About the role: 

Their Day Support services provide care and support for a person with dementia during the day in a safe and comfortable environment. This service gives users an opportunity to meet and mix with others, stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities, and an opportunity to pursue personal hobbies and social activities. 

In this key role you will deputise for the Day Support Manager, 3 days per week, helping to ensure that all operational elements of the service run smoothly and efficiently. This will include Health & Safety, managing and developing team members and volunteers, maintaining client records and care plans. 

In the absence of the Day Support Manager you will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of high-quality Day Support services and for the overall management of the staff working in the service.

This is a responsible position that calls for an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers. Previous care experience is essential, and you must be qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in health and social care. A team player and excellent people manager you will need basic MS Office skills, together with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies. Just as important will be your personal attributes including empathy, creativity, the ability to communicate clearly and above all kindness.
