Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 21 per week
Salary £13,279 actual per annum

About the role:
This role focusses on the management and support of staff and volunteers coordinating and running our group services; Dementia Cafés and Singing for the Brain groups, which offer support and social interaction to those affected by dementia. The role would also promote awareness and understanding of dementia within communities around the county.
The role is also critical in dovetailing with other service provision both locally and nationally, principally the Dementia Family Support Service and Side by Side. Additionally, the role is key in promoting the Alzheimer’s Society New Deal on Dementia by liaising and networking with partners and organisations to positively impact on the dementia landscape.
About you:
As Dementia Support Manager, you will plan, organise and facilitate groups which aim to inform, educate, and support those affected by dementia and work closely with colleagues to achieve operational targets.
As a people person, committed to the principles of dementia friendly communities, you will be passionate about the provision of high quality, person centred services offering information and support to those affected by dementia. With demonstrable experience of managing staff and volunteers, you will possess the required skills to support your team to achieve key strategic objectives as well as the ability to seek effective feedback from service users and work to implement person centred solutions.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a well-motivated, resourceful and creative person, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy service environment. You will be comfortable working collaboratively and liaising across departments and with partner organisations. Ideally you will possess an in depth understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers as well as qualifications at NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent). Experience of working in the voluntary sector or a care setting is desirable.
You will have skills and experience to:
- Communicate effectively with people affected by dementia and all stakeholders
- Engage and involve participants in the design and delivery of group sessions
- Manage and facilitate groups
- Maintain and monitor quality
- Co-ordinate and role manage volunteers
- Liaise with statutory and voluntary organisations
- Update the Computer Record System
