Prospectus are collaborating with UCL, London's leading multidisciplinary university to fulfil the recruitment of Invigilators for their 2019 exams. The main examination period takes place each year in April/May and June, with a resit exam period in August/September. We are looking to recruit a diverse team of diligent, pragmatic and efficient exam invigilators to support and be responsible for the orderly conduct of the examination function.
The successful Exam Invigilator will work on a timetabled schedule and ensure the smooth running of the exams with minimum disturbance and stress to students. You will monitor students during their exams and assist with clerical issues together with carrying out the relevant checks required before examinations to ensure full compliance with expected examinations tasks and conduct.
Demonstrating the highest level of professionalism at all times, you will preferably have previous experience of exam invigilation and/or working in an administrative capacity within higher education, although not essential. Strong communication skills and the ability able to liaise with academics and students confidently, you will be organised, punctual and reliable and have a flexible attitude towards work.
The majority of examinations will be held at the Excel London in East London, with some examinations held on campus (Bloomsbury area).The rate of pay during the examination periods will be per session (morning or afternoon) or for the whole day. The rate of pay is £59.24 per session (plus £7.81 holiday pay) or £78.62 (plus £10.37 holiday pay) for the whole day.
UCL examinations vary in length from 1 hour to 3.5 hours. Invigilators engaged for full day duties will have lunchtime breaks, the times for which will be arranged by the hall supervisor.
Please note: Sessions will be allocated on a rota basis, and we are unable to allocate or guarantee sessions for everyday of your availability.
The ideal candidate will be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS check that is registered to the online update service.
