DMWS is an award-winning international charity that provides a comprehensive and confidential Medical Welfare Service to the Armed Forces Community and other front-line staff whenever they are receiving medical treatment.  For 75 years our practical and emotional support to the individual, their family, and carers, has ensured that no family goes through the worry of illness or injury alone.

We work with people when their medical needs are being met, but other issues, problems or social influences may be impacting on their wellbeing and recovery.  We are unique, and remain the only military charity and civilian welfare organisation to deploy to areas of conflict to support our Armed Forces.

DMWS operate in NHS hospitals, military recovery centres, and local communities across the UK, Germany and Cyprus for serving Armed Forces personnel, reservists, veterans and families, and in Hampshire and Avon & Somerset providing our Police Medical Welfare Service.

We are in a period of development to extend our reach, and to continue to grow our service to meet the exciting and challenging aims of DMWS' Commercial Strategy.  To help us achieve this, we are looking for an experienced Project Bids Officer, based in the North West/North Wales region, to support the Commercial Director.

The Project Bids Officer will research and identify funding streams, and produce successful, high quality, bid documents and funding applications for new business projects, in line with the DMWS Commercial Strategy. You must have at least 3 years proven and demonstrable track record in this arena, and excellent written communication skills.

DMWS are looking for someone who has the ability to

  • Deal positively within a fast paced, developing, and changing environment
  • Is flexible in their approach to work, and willing to travel, including overnight stays
  • Is proactive, committed, and forward thinking
  • Can work effectively on their own as this post will be working from home
  • Is strongly committed to DMWS’ aims and objectives

In return, you will be working within a friendly and supportive environment, making a real difference to those in need of our support.

Benefits package: 30 days leave pro rata plus up to 6% matched pension contribution following successful completion of the six months’ probation period.

If you can fulfil this challenging new position, we would like to hear from you.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter, setting out how you meet the requirements of the Job Description and Person Specification, and let us know what you think you could bring to our organisation to help us achieve our aims.

We would like to appoint as soon as possible, therefore applications will be continually assessed and interviews arranged throughout the application period, so please submit your application as soon as you can.

The application process will run until Noon on Friday 8thFebruary 2019

(Please note: Depending on the number and quality of applicants, we may close the process earlier than stated)
