Our client is a national charity that supports those whom have been affected by imprisonment and their children and families. 

Position: Mentoring Coordinator 
Location: Bristol, South West 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £23,000 per annum

About the role: 

We’re looking for a Mentoring Co-Ordinator to oversee our client's Through The Gate Mentoring service as part of a regional TR contract. We are currently looking to recruit a full time worker in the Bristol area. Although you will have a central base at Bristol, your role will involve regular extensive travel through your geographical region. 

You will be responsible for the management of the mentoring service across South Wales provided by volunteers that you will need to recruit, vet, train and support in their roles. These Volunteer Mentors will take on a caseload of those with convictions who are being released from prison, and will be responsible for providing them with support to ensure successful resettlement into the community. This support is provided through one to one casework and drop-in sessions, with the possibility of developing group-work in the future. You will also be responsible for a small number of paid mentors, who will provide the same service to the small percentage of higher-risk individuals. 

About you: 

As a co-ordinator for the service locally, you will need to build and maintain effective relationships with prisons, Community Rehabilitation Companies and community agencies, ensuring successful referral and feedback mechanisms are in place and providing timely and regular information to the Service Manager with regards to targets, progress and issues.

Other information: 

Please be aware that this role is subject to prison clearance, an enhanced DBS and references covering a three year period.
