Job Details
Are you an experienced Governance Manager looking for a challenging new opportunity in 2019?
We are delighted to be supporting a membership organisation supporting young women and girls to recruit their new Governance Manager.
Acting as company secretary, the overall purpose of this role will be to ensure the highest standards of good governance practise so that the organisation adheres to relevant statutory regulation, including charity law and charity governance. Day to day duties will include overseeing a smooth flow of governance through organising papers, finalising agendas, minute taking, organising and managing board and committee meetings, as well as overseeing trustee recruitment. You will support trustees individually and as a group to support them in fulfilling their legal duties and keeping track of committee membership and recruitment. You will use your governance knowledge to maintain an awareness of governance developments whilst monitoring systems and processes. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support the recruitment process of a new Governance Officer who you will manage on a day to day basis.
To be considered for this role it is essential to have previous experience within a governance management role, ideally within a complex environment. It is essential to have excellent written and communication skills with the ability to build highly effective and collaborative relationships with senior governance volunteers and senior staff members. The successful candidate will work well in a fast paced environment, working to tight deadlines and able to manage conflicting demands. Excellent minute taking skills are also required; experience of working in a federated environment is desirable.
Please be advised that regular board and committee meetings take place at weekends, so the flexibility to work one weekend per month is essential.
A full job description will be provided to candidates shortlisted by Prospectus.
Please apply with a Word Document copy of your CV. Cover letters are not required at this stage.
