Founded in 1925, the ICF is the professional membership body for chartered forestry and arboriculture professionals. The ICF is committed to improving standards of practice, raising public awareness and promoting the professional status of Foresters and Arboriculturists across the UK. As the ICF approaches its 100 year anniversary, now is an exciting time to join the team.
Please be aware that this role is based in Bristol.
Reporting to the Executive Director and as part of the Senior Management team, you will be responsible for promoting the professional status of the organisation amongst key stakeholders in the public and private sectors. You will play a key role in identifying issues and opportunities for professional development in our sector. Managing a small team, you will develop and manage training and events for members across the country, alongside promoting educational pathways for professional qualifications. Day to day activities will include identifying opportunities to build partnerships with other professional bodies and Higher Education Institutes and actively maintaining existing relationships throughout the UK.
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have experience of working in partnership with key public and private sector organisations to deliver specified objectives. You will have a proven track record of working in (or influencing) the development of public policy. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working across sectors (public/private/third) and income generation or cost controlled expenditure programmes. A strong communicator (written, verbal and oral), you will have excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with a proven ability to manage a small team. You will be comfortable producing written content to the highest standard and be comfortable working independently. An understanding of the environment or land use issues is desirable, as is the ability to represent the Institute at a senior level.
Please note: This post involves considerable travel throughout the UK and while all travel will be by public transport where possible, at times the post holder will be required to use their own vehicle so must hold a valid UK driving license.
