Our client is a highly respected independent charity, which together with its subsidiary, Pact Futures, works across England and Wales to develop and deliver a range of innovative services, providing practical and emotional support to prisoners’ children and families, to prisoners, and to ex-offenders.
Position: Play Worker
Location: HMP Gartree, Leicestershire
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 16 hours per week
Salary: £7,280.00 per annum (FTE £17,062.50)

About the role:
As a Play Worker at HMP Gartree you will work alongside Her Majesty's Prison Staff to deliver age appropriate and culturally sensitive play activities including outside activities to ensure that children feel comfortable, safe and secure while visiting their parent in prison.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience of working with children of varying ages providing play activities, providing a warm welcoming environment to ensure that children, families and prisoners are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.
You will also have knowledge of safeguarding / child protection practice alongside a knowledge of data protection.

This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, verification of identity and proven right to work in the UK, satisfactory HMPPS / MoJ Security Vetting, satisfactory employer references covering a minimum of 3 years and a satisfactory enhanced DBS. Please note that being bankrupt or having County Court Judgements may affect your ability to be successfully vetted to work in a prison.
