About this job

This new project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and is delivered in partnership with Citizens Advice Manchester. The project aims to support people living in Manchester, Bolton and Salford to have an improved quality of life by reducing their isolation, increasing their independence and improving their financial, employment and housing situations.

The Project Officer will lead the the day to day operational work of the project, developing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with Citizens Advice Manchester as well as with local organisations and relevant professionals from third sector organisations Substantial experience of successfully delivering a time limited project and experience of working with a range of stakeholders and partners to deliver a project is essential.

Individuals accessing the project will be supported by a local volunteer and the Project Co-ordinator will manage the overall programme of work, recruit, train and manage a cohort of volunteers who will be matched with beneficiaries of the project, providing a listening ear and support. Experience of managing volunteers to deliver local services and experience of delivering interactive group training is essential.

Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills; good organisational and workload management skills and excellent IT skills, in particular MS Office and use of databases are essential for this role.
