Grants Manager (Research Funding)
Position: Grants Manager
Location: Central London, WC1N
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £Competitive
Benefits: 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, generous pension scheme, flexible working, discounted season ticket loan and many more!
Closing date: 9am on Monday 4th February
About the role:
Do you have experience of working for a research funder? Do you want to use this experience and broaden your horizons beyond traditional research management? If so, then they have a fantastic opportunity for you.
The Grants Manager is responsible for looking after a large diverse and varied portfolio of grants, including research and non-research grants. This includes a mixture of traditional response-mode funding and, increasingly, working closely with applicants to shape larger strategic awards. The post-holder is responsible for managing the entire life cycle of a grant, all the way from the pre-award stage through to post-award monitoring and evaluation.
About you:
You will have research management experience and be confident operating independently. You will also be able to lead and deliver on large projects, with appropriate support, and work closely with important senior external and internal stakeholders.
Additionally, you will have an advanced research degree (PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships are also essential.
Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis and they reserve the right to close the role prior to the closing date, should a suitable applicant be found. Therefore, you are encouraged to apply right away, to avoid disappointment.
About the Charity:
Every day brings new challenges for our client. Every day, over 600 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. Without donations, they can’t help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Their staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.
