We are currently recruiting for a Government Relations Manager to join Unicef UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to serve as Unicef UK’s focal point for institutional relations with the UK Government and Parliament, Devolved Governments and Parliaments as well as managing the two other roles in the Government Relations team.

As Government Relations Manager, you will design, manage and implement Unicef UK’s targeted strategies to help achieve positive change for the world’s children. You will represent Unicef UK externally with Government, Parliament and political parties. You will provide up to date political analysis to ensure Unicef UK’s policy and executive are aware of upcoming political issues for children. You will also line manage the Government Relations Adviser and Senior Government Relations Advise while managing the team budget.

To succeed in this role, you will have extensive experience of the UK political context and combine an ability to influence decision makers with a passionate commitment to upholding children’s rights. You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively to political audiences a range of complex policy areas, from the need to ensure UK Aid prioritises the most vulnerable, to ensuring refugee children are able to safely and legally reach safety, to reducing the impact of toxic air on the health of children in the UK. You will also have experience people management and be able to provide strategic direction and sets clear objectives and expectations in delegating work appropriately, encouraging and empowering others to act on their initiative and make decisions.
