We have an exciting opportunity for a Conference Assistant to join our team on a full time, permanent basis at 65 Queens Gate, Central London.

About the Conference Assistant role:

To support the Head of Event and Conference Centre and Operations Manager in terms of managing the operational delivery of the conference department. Ensure all bookings are delivered to a high standard.

National Centres are part of the Commercial Services Directorate which is responsible for the following areas of Headquarters; National Centres, Fundraising, Scout Shops LTD and Unity Insurance Services.

National Centres has a number of locations across the UK with a mixture of Activity Centres and Conference Centres within the group.

What will you be doing?

- Ensure all guests to 65 Queens Gate receive the best possible experience.

- Maintain an excellent standard of cleanliness/presentation of all conference rooms, surrounding areas and office space.

- Actively engage with our guests to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction, regularly ‘walk the floor’ to ensure facilities are fit for purpose at all times.

- Assist in the delivery of catering and refreshments to customers in a timely manner.

- Prepare event spaces and conference rooms for use by customers to a high standard with attention to detail at all times. This area of work involves manual labour and technical set-up.

- Support the Guest Services team to generate sales and support the guest journey.

What we are looking for in our Conference Assistant:

- Has a working knowledge of the hospitality and conference industry

- Sound knowledge of sales techniques and working practices

- Be able to up sell in a variety of ways using email, phone and face to face.

- To oversee as part of a team large events throughout the year.

- A proven record of being customer focused

- Able to communicate effectively with a range of customers

- Has a working knowledge of audio visual equipment and installations

- Working with electronic booking Systems
