A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Trusts Officer in the Major Giving Team at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity. This role will help SSAFA develop its relationships with funders at an exciting time for the charity.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive, independent and keen fundraiser with strong teamwork skills.
The Major Giving Team has had some key funding successes recently and a vital aspect of the role will be to further develop and maximise those successes. The post holder will manage a portfolio of existing charitable trusts and foundations and identify new potential funders and apply to them. Reporting to the Trusts Manager, you will take the lead in managing the Trusts area of our database and ensuring we are reporting to funders in a timely and accurate way. This role will be instrumental to the continued success of the team.
SSAFA is one of the most respected charities in the military charity sector, and carries out a wide variety of work, from housing services, to work in prisons, to welfare advice and support. You will have the opportunity to fundraise across a variety of programmes and services and therefore contribute to the support SSAFA is able to provide for its beneficiaries.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have:
- Excellent research and planning skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to communicate and liaise with people at all levels
- Track record of developing strong relationships with funders or key partners
- Excellent database and Microsoft Office skills
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
