A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Events Manager in the Corporate & Events fundraising team at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
This is a Maternity Cover contract for up to one year
About the role
We are seeking an individual with significant charity events experience to work across SSAFA’s Special Events and Challenge Events portfolios, with an emphasis on Challenge Events and a particular aim to maximise the fundraising element involved.
The role includes working on specific events but concentrating on recruiting more ‘own place’ participants in 3rd party running and cycling events, as well as securing corporate sponsorship. The post holder will also support on large scale events such as Gala Dinners and concerts.
The successful applicant will work very closely with other members of the Corporate and Events team, as well as liaising with the Marketing Communications team to ensure that we are maximising participation and awareness opportunities, while analysing data of previous participants in order to cross sell and improve the supporter journey for participants.
To carry out this role successfully you will have demonstrable experience in organising charity events, with a track record in maximising income and launching new Mass Participation Events. An ideal candidate has experience across both Special Events and Challenge Events but a strong candidate with only Challenge Events experience will be considered. Proficient financial forecasting and reporting skills are important, and you must be a team player. You will be required from time to time to attend other events on behalf of the charity.
