Job Details

A military Charity that have a national presence and support the armed forces.

Description

  • To prepare an annual rolling three year plan and budget to develop grant income.
  • To implement that plan, managing influential volunteers and senior staff to achieve that objective.
  • To meet income and expenditure targets agreed with your line Manager.
  • To identify, research and approach national and international trusts and foundations, and other grant making bodies, who have the potential to donate towards the work of the Charity.
  • To develop and manage a portfolio of high value relationships with major Trusts and / or Statutory funders that provide substantial financial support for the work of the charity.
  • To lead on the development of large and complex funding proposals to major funders involving liaison with senior managers, both internally and externally, as well as the drafting of high quality targeted applications to meet funders' requirements for project outcomes, budgets and monitoring/reporting procedures.
  • To work closely and pro-actively with the Operations team to identify new projects, obtain project information and budgets and to ensure a continuous flow of fundraising projects coming forward.
  • To work across departments to develop, write and deliver innovative and creative proposals for funding, in line with the charity's strategic aims and annual fundraising goals.
  • To monitor and provide reports and analysis from income raised from Charitable Trusts in line with set targets.
  • To ensure funders' reporting requirements regarding the use of restricted grants are met, and reports submitted according to agreed schedules and in line with funders' criteria.
  • To ensure the Major Gifts team and other fundraising departments maximise the potential of cross grant funding and the opportunities for grant makers to open doors to high net worth individuals and companies that might support the Charity.
  • To develop a cultivation and stewardship programme for influential Trustees /
    Individuals associated with Funding bodies, using established the Charity events.
  • Maintain accurate up to date files, profiles and provide reports for fundraising meetings.
  • Organise and accompany supporter visits to welfare projects as required.
  • To provide advice and guidance to regional staff/branch members making funding approaches to Awards for All or other local funding bodies.
