Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is a leading independent funder. They support exceptional organisations that are building a more inclusive, creative and sustainable society in the UK. In 2017 they gave over £40m in grants to charities and social enterprises working in arts, children and young people, sustainable food & environment, and social change. They also operate a social investment fund for organisations that can deliver a social benefit along with a financial return. They are currently looking to recruit a Resources Officer to join its team.


This essential role will involve the provision of solid and comprehensive administration support with various strands of responsibility including governance, HR and facilities support, organising meetings and events, and project management, in addition to offering broad EA-style support to the Director of Operations and two Funding Directors.

As an initial point of contact for external enquiries to the organisation, this person will deal professionally and knowledgably with queries from grantees and various external providers and partners. Being an integral component of the resources team, this person will offer 360 degree administrative support to other members of the SMT and will also provide wide ranging cover for other members of the team when necessary. This role will also work as part of a busy reception area on a regular basis and will be responsible for opening up the office at 8.30am some mornings. (hours 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon to Fri).


The successful candidate will be highly organised and will have substantial senior administration experience. The ability to prioritise and multitask in a calm and professional manner is essential, as is being able to communicate effectively with a very wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.


Excellent written skills, advanced IT skills and strong experience using data and reporting is helpful, and an analytical approach to sometimes quite complex information and guidelines will be important, along with emotional intelligence and an unflappable self-starting nature.

*This role is offered initially on a one year fixed term contract with possibility of further extension. Interviews will take place on Thursday 24th Janurary 2019.
