Alumni Volunteer Manager

Full Time :

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £35,328 - £42,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL is London’s Global University. We do things differently here and we take the long view. We are not afraid to take risks. We remain focused on making a major contribution to the long term benefit of humanity. In September 2016 UCL launched ‘It’s All Academic’, our bold new global Philanthropy and Engagement Campaign to raise £600m to support students, research and the transformation of our campus ( https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=www.ucl.ac.uk%2Fcampaign&data=02%7C01%7Cucl%40penna.com%7C58c633e81b1e4b5bd4b408d65393c400%7Cf30ac191b8b445f29a9be5466cb90c2f%7C0%7C0%7C636788291447138123&sdata=TE9l7%2FxxBkNcw%2F4Nrbea5IKxb8i%2FAPBACGfbaqmqwIw%3D&reserved=0 ). It will enable us to achieve more than ever before to secure our position as one of the world’s top higher education institutions. At the end of August 2018 we are delighted to have raised more than £464m towards our target.

From fighting dementia to ensuring generations of students reach their full potential: It's All Academic. UCL’s ideas and discoveries are shaping the future, improving lives and having a massive impact on London and the wider world. There has never been a more exciting time to join our Advancement office. We are a team of exceptionally ambitious, creative and passionate individuals who work together to achieve remarkable things with a global impact, and we would love for you to be part of this exciting journey and our success.

This is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering our Campaign. As Alumni Volunteer Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a flagship alumni volunteer programme for UCL. The role will focus developing and expanding alumni volunteering activities as well as increasing the number of alumni who give their time in support of the Campaign for UCL, a key enabler for the delivery of UCL2034. Through innovating and championing best practice in volunteer management, you will ensure that the experience for alumni volunteers is rewarding and mutually beneficial for both UCL and the volunteer.

You will have strong experience in managing and delivering volunteer programmes. This could be within either higher education, alumni relations, a charity, student union or similar third sector organisation. Using your excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative approach and ability to organise complex projects and activities, you will champion alumni volunteering across OVPA, Faculties, Vice-Provost Offices and the wider UCL community.
