We are seeking a talented and effective Private Fundraising & Communications Coordinator to join Cord at an exciting time as we launch our new strategy. This role is a key member of the Cord team, being responsible for implementing the private fundraising & communications strategy. The role is dedicated to fundraising via the communication of stories of personal transformative change and “engaging intelligently” with our current and new supporters, and developing new relationships with Trusts and Foundations, high-net worth individuals and corporates. You will be a self-starter, who can hit the ground running to help us drive growth and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets for 2019 onwards. 

The Private Fundraising & Communications Coordinator will: 

1. Maintain income from existing supporter base and grow income from new sources for the organisation: 

2. Lead on implementing and shaping the Cord Private fundraising Strategy with individual supporters, churches, corporates, trusts, foundations & high net worth individuals 

3. Represent Cord externally at Church speaking engagements & key fundraising events 

4. Lead on administering and maximising the value of Cord’s fundraising database 

5. Line manage the Communications and Fundraising Assistant ensuring accurate recording of all donations and effective supporter correspondence; 

6. Lead on the production of clear and engaging communications content across print & digital channels which market Cord’s strategy to a wide variety of audiences globally. 

7. Develop and use a wide variety of fundraising and donor acquisition campaign tools to market Cord effectively to a wider audience. 

Ideal candidates will have: 

  • A degree in related subject such as marketing, business or communications desired, or relevant and demonstrable work experience; 
  • Understanding of current policy debates in fundraising, international development and peace-building. 
  • 3 recent years’ demonstrable results in fundraising and communications within the UK and/or international charity sector; 
  • Proven experience of building/maintaining a supporter base of individual and/or community supporters and developing a legacy programme 
  • Proven experience of working with Corporates and high-net worth individuals as well as trusts and foundations to secure new funding 
  • Experience of working on supporter databases such as Netsuite 
  • Excellent organisational & administrative skills, and the ability to work to deadlines; 
  • Competence in relevant Microsoft Office programs.
