Client Account Manager – Sport Sector
Since 1989, Stonewall have made significant differences to the lives of LGBT people, by securing legal protection from discrimination and championing equality at governmental level, in schools and in companies and organisations in the UK and around the world.
A key part of our work with companies and organisations is our Diversity Champions programme, which advises organisations on the steps they can take to be more LGBT inclusive and benchmarks best practice in our Workplace Equality Index. The role is based in Stonewall’s Public Sector Membership Programmes team and is a key part of our Sport Strategy.
Join us as a Client Account Manager – Sport Sector and help employers make sports workplaces more LGBT-inclusive. Working with UK and international employers, from clubs to national governing bodies and beyond, you will influence workplace policy, drive greater LGBT outreach by sports organisations, and help create a world where working in sport is for everyone.
As well as supporting existing members of the Diversity Champions programme, you will be responsible for growing Diversity Champion membership by sports bodies, delivering programmes and conference sessions to empower those who work in sport, and supporting non-sporting organisations who sponsor or engage in sport. This helps achieve positive change for LGBT people in sport and generate income that enables Stonewall to deliver its mission.
With experience of establishing, building and maintaining relationships at all levels of an organisation, you’ll have first rate interpersonal skills and a passion for both the public and UK sport sector. You’ll be adept at spotting new business opportunities, setting and achieving business goals and conveying complex concepts and data to a wide range of audiences. You’ll balance your comfort with speaking and presenting in public and with drafting clear and concise communications, with a good commercial awareness, enabling you to evaluate material and problem solve and manage a busy and diverse workload.
Based in London, the post involves regular travel, including occasional overnight stays.
