FareShare is the largest UK charity that tackles hunger and food waste. It is a growing movement supported by many high street retailers and aims to address major contemporary environmental and social issues.
FareShare uses surplus food in order to support frontline charities and community groups who in turn support the most vulnerable in society.
As FareShare looks towards its 25th anniversary in 2019, it partners with close to 10,000 organisations who provide enough food to feed one million people a week. This still represents less than 10% of the potential food available for redistribution.
Following the retirement of two long-serving board members, the board are particularly seeking candidates with the following backgrounds;
-Social Enterprise – experience of growth, business modelling and partnerships
-Legal – with a focus on corporate or employment practice
New Trustees will be part of an energised, well governed, committed, and hard-working board who work to support FareShare in their growth agenda and towards a sustainable future where even more surplus food is converted into food for communities.
