The Role

The Royal British Legion is recruiting a Coordinator to take a key role in the management and delivery of the recently launched Veterans’ Gateway.

The Veterans’ Gateway has been established to manage the journey for veterans to get to the help and support they need. With over 2000 military charities it can be confusing to know where to start. The Veterans’ Gateway provides a single point of contact to overcome that confusion.  The Veteran’s Gateway represents a pathway to a full list of services from housing and recovery to mental health services, financial advice and employment support.

Working alongside the Assistant Director Veterans’ Gateway, this motivating opportunity combines elements of project management, presentations, networking and administration, often working to tight timelines to ensure the service evolves and continues to meet the requirements of the Consortium (The Royal British Legion, Poppyscotland, Combat Stress, SSAFA and Connect Assist). This will require working closely with the members of the reference groups, with many of them relying upon you to keep them informed and focussed upon the tasks in hand.

The role requires exceptional organisational skills, an ability to work under pressure to tight timelines, whilst always interacting with service and civilian organisations at a senior level in a polite and courteous fashion; with the aim of achieving the evolving Veterans’ gateway and ensuring we engage and encourage the partners to support this initiative.
