Job Details

A large disability charity based in south-east London is seeking a treasury expert for a new role as a Treasury Accountant.

The role will be heavily focused on maintaining the cash book, cash postings, reconciliations and banking, as the treasury department is becoming separate from the rest of the financial accounting team. The role will also supervise 2 junior Treasury Officers. You will also assist the Financial Accountant with some cash-flow duties.

The role will involve:

-To be responsible for accurate posting of all cash transactions

-To plan, review and supervise work on the two Treasury Officers to ensure all cash transactions are posted in accurate and timely manner.

-To accurately post bank transactions onto the finance systems in line with financial procedures.

-To plan and undertake bank reconciliations allocated to the Treasury Team.

-Review posting and reconciliation of the Fundraising income onto the accounting system

-Supervise and professionally develop the Treasury Officers, undertake their appraisals and support them in their roles.

-To work with the Senior Financial Accountant on maintaining the cash flow reports to ensure standard reports are updated and robust

Candidate requirements:

-Demonstrable experience in a Treasury focused role, with extensive experience in cash postings, bank reconciliations and banking. Please note this is not a financial accounting or a broad finance officer role, it is purely focused on treasury.

-Experience in a large, complex organisation with multiple bank accounts

-Experience supervising or managing staff

-AAT qualification or equivalent is preferred

-The role would best suit an experienced Treasury professional looking for a long-term stable role in this area
