The Director of Computer Science Education will lead a substantial part of the NCCE’s programme of excellence for computing teachers in secondary schools, making a significant impact on Computer Science at GCSE and A level. Working closely with the teaching community, Head teachers, the University of Cambridge and the DfE, the Director of Computer Science will lead a newly formed team to significantly increase the number of certified Computer Science teachers as well as increase student engagement with, and performance in, Computer Science at GCSE and A level.

We are looking for a highly motivated and effective leader with both exceptional computer science subject knowledge and a thorough understanding of the school/FE environment. You will have solid experience of teaching computer science education and will have secured successful GSCE or A level results. You may have supplemented this experience with providing CPD to teachers or examining the subject. You will enjoy leading teams and building relationships with a variety of stakeholders, as well as being adept at balancing multiple priorities. Crucially, you will be passionate about the chance to create a transformational impact on computer science for English education.
