Position: Management Accountant
Location: Northampton (with occasional travel)

Salary: Circa £37,000 per annum

This is an exciting time to join this charity in a newly established finance team at their Northampton Resource Centre. Following a recent modernisation programme and a strategic review of their finance operations, they are relocating their finance team from London to Northampton and have a number of exciting career opportunities.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders. This role is to ensure the accurate processing of payroll and the accurate recording and reporting of income and expenditure.
You will hold a professional accountancy qualification and have a willingness to undertake training and continuing professional development. With a background in accountancy from within a busy finance environment, you will have experience of Accruals and Prepayments, month end activities and driving continuous improvement and influencing change. You will have the ability to communicate effectively face to face, in writing, by email and on the telephone, including public speaking. With strong Excel skills, including Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s and SUMIFS formulae, you will also have a basic knowledge of VBA. The Management Accountant will focus on delivery to agreed deadlines, whilst setting high standards and adherence to process and controls.
You will have an enquiring mind with an openness to new ideas and ways of doing things, but also be able to bridge the gap between finance and non-finance understanding and ways of working. You will have the ability to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to their corporate values and principles of equal opportunities and diversity. You will be willing to be an advocate for yourself and the team, as a team player and by helping others.
A degree or equivalent level qualification with experience of production of management, statutory accounts, budgeting and forecasting processes would be an advantage. As would experience of managing a finance system, such as PS Financials.
