Position: Systems Accountant

Location: Northampton (with occasional travel)

Salary: Circa £37,000 per annum

This is an exciting time to join this charity in a newly established finance team at their Northampton Resource Centre. Following a recent modernisation programme and a strategic review of their finance operations, they are relocating their finance team from London to Northampton and have a number of exciting career opportunities.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Systems Accountant will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders. This role is to ensure the financial systems are managed and maintained.

As Systems Accountant, you will have accountancy and finance systems experience within a busy finance environment and a willingness to undertake training and continuing professional development. You will have experience of driving continuous improvement and influencing change and be able to communicate effectively. With strong excel skills and a focus on delivery to agreed deadlines, you will set high standards and adherence to process and controls.

You will have an enquiring mind with an openness to new ideas and ways of doing things and the ability to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to their corporate values. A professional accountancy qualification and a degree or equivalent level qualification would be an advantage as would experience of Portal (Web) based systems, budgeting and forecasting processes and managing a finance system, such as PS Financials and basic knowledge of VBA.
