Job Details
Our client, a national trust, is about to launch a major new national programme to benefit children and has an exciting opportunity available to join a project team that will be dedicated to this new programme. This project officer role will be focused on programme delivery around community, family and business volunteer engagement. This role will be mainly focused on the Peterborough, Nottingham and Newcastle regions.
Key responsibilities for this Project Officer opportunity:
Identify opportunities to recruit volunteers from locally based businesses
Engage potential volunteers and organise training events
Train volunteers to deliver events and engage with families
Gather case studies from events, families and volunteers
Present to local business partners about the programme
Work with the Project Manager to develop a robust knowledge of area volunteers
Maintain project plans and budgets, and report on these as required
Provide other adhoc administration support as required
Essential criteria for this role:
Demonstrable experience recruiting and supporting volunteers
Good knowledge of volunteer management and safeguarding
Proven experience in providing project support in a charity or educational context
Track record in community engagement and/or workshop events
Experience of maintaining project plans, budgets and reporting against them
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook
Good knowledge of schools and education, and parental engagement
Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and spoken English
*Desirable: knowledge of effective early years practice
