Treasurer 

Our client is an international Christian charity with over 160 years of experience helping people of all faiths and none to free themselves from a life of poverty and injustice. 

Position: Board of Trustee - Treasurer 
Location: Flexible (mainly at our client’s office in Amersham, Buckinghamshire) 
Role type: This is an unpaid voluntary position but travel and other agreed expenses are reimbursed 

Closing Date: Monday 24th December 2018 
Interviews will be held in London mid-January 2019 

They are looking for a Trustee Treasurer who shares their values and vision and has the skills, qualities and expertise to provide oversight of the charity’s finances, including annual budgets, annual report and accounts. They are in the third year of implementing their five-year strategic plan (to 2020) which envisages significant growth in the charity from their current annual income level of around £4 million. Their aim is not growth for its own sake, but so that they can better respond to the enormous challenges facing our Christian partners across the Middle East. 

Board meetings take place four times a year, at their head office in Amersham (Buckinghamshire), plus committee work four to five times a year. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance, monitoring and strategic direction of the charity. It works with management to ensure that the charity fulfils the objects defined in its articles, acts in accordance with the charity’s vision and mission, and complies with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Trustees are appointed in the first instance for a period of three years renewable. 

As a Christian charity, and in accordance with their Articles of Association, trustees must be practising Christians. 

N.B – In line with the charity’s Safeguarding policy the successful applicant will be asked to undertake a disclosure check prior to confirmation of appointment.
