Our client provides support to individuals with learning difficulties, mental health issues, autism and acquired brain injuries, in both residential and supported living settings. Location: Sunderland & Seaham
Job type: Full Time, Permanent (guaranteed hours)
Hours: Full time, part time and bank hours available
Hourly Rate: £7.83 - £8.20 for supporting in challenging services – (overtime available)

About the Role

The Support Worker will provide practical assistance and emotional support to Service Users, enabling them to achieve their goals and aspirations. By promoting social inclusion; opening doors to opportunities and experiences, you will enhance lives and create new and unique adventures.

Staff are at the heart of everything they do and as a member of the team you will go through a full induction process and work to a clear development plan with support and guidance provided, to achieve relevant qualifications. Additionally, appraisals and ongoing assessments will ensure outstanding learning and development opportunities.

About You

You will be a dedicated and empathetic person who is able to not only provide physical care but also offer emotional support to help people to reach their maximum independence in a safe and positive living environment You will be able to demonstrate the right attitude and commitment to their ethos and show sensitivity to the needs of others.

Although not essential for all our clients’ roles, some of their services require candidates to have previous experience of managing challenging behaviour, this could be in a paid or unpaid capacity.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to learn and undertake the essential training that is required for the role.

Whilst experience is not essential as full training will be provided we very much welcome previous experience working as Home Carer, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker.
