The Henry Smith Charity is a grantmaking trust employing 22 people. They award around £30m per year in grants to charities working for the relief of poverty, deprivation, and disadvantage around the UK.
Having recently launched a new main grants strategy the trustees have approved a resourced implementation plan which covers projects across the whole organisation including grantmaking, learning and evaluation, IT & database, HR, compliance and office facilities.
We are now seeking to recruit a project manager with the skills to take an overview of the programme, and support the senior management team and staff in the timely delivery of the programme, while also being keen to become directly involved in the implementation of the individual projects where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be a qualified project manager and have experience of managing a range of complex projects utilising a project management framework. You will be experienced in delivering projects, as well as managing them, demonstrating strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate the teams you work with. You will also have experience of reporting back to senior management on the progress of all projects. Experience with IT focused projects is desirable.
The role is offered on an 18 month fixed term contract.
