Are you an inspirational, senior fundraising manager with a broad experience of the fundraising sector? Do you thrive on a varied workload that encourages you to apply your skills and expertise to generate significant funds? Can you help fund our ambitious plans for a Wilder Kent?

Kent Wildlife Trust is seeking a fundraising manager to lead our bid development, individual giving, and supporter development functions.  This role is designed to maximise income from existing sources but to support the development of new and enhanced ways of giving and to transform income generation across the organisation.

This is a varied role with scope for autonomy and creativity. The role will be supported by the Director of Fundraising and Marketing with the aim of leading organisational wide bid development and developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy in order to grow and diversify Kent Wildlife Trust’s non-commercial, non-membership recruitment income.

With a focus on income generation and growth, this role will benefit from working closely with the communications team to maximise income generated from increased penetration and a greater focus on campaigns.

The ideal applicant will have significant experience of developing and delivering fundraising strategies and managing talented people and as such you will be a confident leader who has the thirst and drive to make a significant difference to income generation and an unmatched desire for success.

Kent Wildlife Trust is the leading wildlife charity for Kent and Medway, supported by its members and staffed by committed professionals.  We are all working to protect wildlife and to find better ways to run an efficient and effective organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy in order to grow and diversify Kent Wildlife Trust’s non-commercial, non-membership recruitment income in order to fund the Trust’s ambitious plan for the recovery of nature across Kent.
  • Ensure successful delivery of key performance indicators and income targets.
  • Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in building the best possible team, infrastructure, processes and systems for successful fundraising.

Kent Wildlife Trust has a positive approach to equality and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.

Company

Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT) is a flexible employer that aims to be class-leading in the environment sector in the southeast. It is one of the largest of the 46 Wildlife Trusts, which together make up The Wildlife Trusts Partnership.  We are supported by our 32,000 members, and have the simple ambition of enabling the recovery of Kent’s wildlife.  To this end, we own or manage over 80 nature reserves covering over 9,000 acres; we campaign and lobby politicians, decision makers and landowners to ensure site protection and good habitat management; and we run a full programme of education work with schools, colleges and adult groups.  The Trust also has three Visitor Centres. We also have two income generating subsidiaries (an ecological consultancy and a trading arm). Together with the charity these make up the KWT Group.

The Trust operates from its headquarters at Tyland Barn, just north of Maidstone.  It is composed of over 100 professional and support staff who work within teams including Estates, Conservation Delivery & Partnership, Conservation Policy & Evidence, People Engagement, Marketing and Fundraising, Finance and Support Services.
