Job Details

The Outward Bound Trust is looking for an innovative and dynamic Events Manager to execute an incredible programme of both fundraising and donor stewardship events that will support the Trust’s Fundraising Team to raise up to £6m per year; and specifically, for events, generate an income target of £700,000.

This individual will work with the Director of Development and a fellow Events Manager to deliver an exclusive portfolio of events for supporters across the Trust’s fundraising income streams, including personal responsibility for events such as:

_The London Marathon
_The Snowstopper - an annual festive auction event
_Winter and Summer Challenges
_New Business Breakfasts and Lunches
_Supporter Visits to Outward Bound centres
_and Sporting and Music Opportunities

The role will also include working closely with The Director of Development to build a new pipeline of exciting challenge events - appealing to existing donors, to attract new support and generate increased fundraising events income for the future.

This is an opportunity to join an award-winning and ambitious fundraising team, and personally manage a strong suite of fundraising events that are critical to the success of the organisation. This would suit an experienced Events Manager who is looking to work at fast paced charity with an array of exclusive events, or a driven Events Executive looking for a role with an increase in responsibilities at a national charity.

Company

The Outward Bound Trust is a leading educational charity providing adventure-based outdoor learning for young people of all backgrounds.

Founded over 70 years ago, we now have six residential centres across the UK, all located in wild and inspirational environments. We work with upwards of 25,000 young people each year, on residential courses that last from 3 to 19 days, with a large proportion receiving bursaries from The Trust to enable them to participate. We welcome and work with young people who are either in education or the early stages of their employment, and as such work nationally with a wide variety of client groups, including many schools and colleges as well as well-known corporate employers. Equally important are our donor relationships with individual and corporate supporters, who are essential to the success, viability and growth of the organisation.

We believe that The Trust has a unique and privileged position in the outdoor learning sector, given the quality of the programmes we offer, the inspiring and challenging environments that we operate in, the expertise and qualifications of our instructors, and most importantly, the proven impact and outcomes we are able to deliver for young people.
