Description

  • Managing the end to end delivery of a programme of events, including all event logistics such as: finding and booking venues, budget management, negotiating with and managing suppliers, liaising with speakers, event day management and post event activities
  • Planning and delivering an annual programme of conferences, satellite meetings, symposiums, and other events, contributing to the delivery of organisational projects and strategy
  • Liaising, negotiating and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders (members, exhibitors, suppliers), ensuring actions are communicated and delivered accordingly
  • Working with team members and any other necessary parties to implement successful marketing and communication plans for events
  • Developing a good understanding of issues concerning the member's industry and developing new strategic plans around events including creative and relevant ideas for future event programmes
  • Selling sponsorship/exhibition opportunities to potential exhibitors/partners
  • Ensuring all events are branded appropriately
  • Budget management including forecasting, planning and reconciliation of accounts for all of the events
  • Providing a professional service and responding to stakeholders within a timely manner
  • Dotted line management responsibility

Profile

Essential

  • Demonstrable, end to end event management experience, from conception through to completion
  • Experience of developing and managing relationships, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience of CRM and Events database management
  • Outstanding organisational, planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver quality work to deadlines
  • Negotiation and budget management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively
  • Demonstrating a hands-on approach, a pro-active and positive attitude, and a willingness to assist other team members when required
  • Problem solver and creative thinker
  • A willingness and ability to work on an occasional basis out of hours, as and when required for events based across the UK and with overnight travel to UK or overseas events

Desirable

  • Events related qualification
  • Experience of working for a membership or charity organisation
  • Experience of organising revenue generating events
  • Line management experience

Job Offer

  • Salary of between £36,000 and £40,000 commensurate with experience
