Are you an IT enthusiast with the technical expertise to administer and be responsible for the database infrastructure for the nation's heart charity?
We have an exciting job opportunity for a Database Administrator to join and make a mark on our work. We're passionate about what we do and you'll play a vital role here. You'll support the databases that enable us to achieve our charitable objectives by making sure they're robust, fit-for-purpose and secure.
You'll deliver the maintenance, administration and support services to the database infrastructure across the BHF. This includes services such as upgrading SQL Servers, configuration and tuning of SQL environments, monitoring and other general database support and ensuring they remain available at all times, outside of planned maintenance.
Collaborating with the team and wider business you'll ensure our database provision is effective and secure, meeting on going management, reporting and business intelligence requirements.
About you
You'll have strong database administration skills utilising Microsoft SQL Server, able to handle, maintain, configure and fix SQL issues. You'll communicate effectively with partners to support the maintenance and improvement to applications and databases.
Experienced working in an IT Operations/Service Environment you'll have good technical experience of working in a production database environment matched by a superb attention to detail. You'll also have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities able to use your own initiative to identify and fix issues.
Able to remain calm and focused on tasks, you'll have excellent organisation skills, able to prioritise work and advance where needed. You'll also be a great teammate able to encourage others and take a lead where necessary.
Based at Greater London House in Camden this role will operate across all BHF sites. You may be required to visit other sites as necessary.
