Job Details

Are you a passionate, experienced and creative campaigner who is able to deliver imaginative and effective campaigns? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Campaigns Manager to join our fast-paced communications team and play an active role in the development and execution of impactful  campaigns that deliver Nesta’s mission.

About Nesta

Nesta is a global innovation foundation.  We back new ideas to tackle the big challenges of our time.  Our mission is to spark and shape new ideas that improve society and how the world works for everyone.  We use our knowledge, networks, funding and skills - working in partnership with others, including governments, businesses and charities.  We are a UK charity but work all over the world, supported by a financial endowment.

About the role

You will devise and run campaigns that knit together different Nesta activities and streams of work into coherent long-running initiatives, and undertake the development and delivery of campaign asks and messages through the full range of communications channels. This will involve planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a series of high profile campaigns, working at a senior level to align priorities, develop effective engagement strategies, draw together colleagues' work and create integrated communications programmes which deliver high impact messaging, advocacy and actions. Working closely with every member of the communications team to bring all their skills and talents together, you will utilise media, PR, public affairs, stakeholder relations and digital tools. Supported by a stakeholder relations officer (who reports directly into this role), you will take responsibility for stakeholder management and public affairs activities, building on our existing networks and managing key stakeholder relationships.

To secure this exciting opportunity

An exceptional collaborator who thrives on working as part of a busy team, you’ll think creatively about how to target and connect with particular audiences and have the creative flair required to create the right content to meet our needs. You’ll need proven experience in driving successful campaigns to achieve mass mobilisation, policy campaigning and digital campaigning and of delivering public affairs strategies and building and managing stakeholder relations among policy makers in central, regional and local government.

Someone with strong networking and relationship building skills, it goes without saying that you are a confident communicator who can think quickly, is highly organised and can digest large amounts of information. You’re also a talented people manager who can motivate others to get results while providing support and guidance.

At NESTA we want to work with the best people and organisations to deliver initiatives that promote innovation.

NESTA is the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts - an independent body with a mission to make the UK more innovative.

Our endowment status means we operate at no cost to the UK taxpayer.

We invest in early-stage companies, inform policy, and deliver practical programmes that inspire others to solve the big challenges of the future.

NESTA does not work alone. Our success depends on the strength of the partnerships we form with innovators, policymakers, community organisations, educators and other investors. We bring the best ideas, new flows of capital and talented people together, and encourage others to develop them further.
