Position: Senior Business Development & Support Officer
Location: Wallfields, Hertford
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week part time and job share considered
Salary: £22,998 to £28,818 (inclusive of local weighting)

About the role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Business Development and Support Officer to work as part of a team within a business support operational environment. The role will provide support for complex financial and administration to service areas including Leisure and Environment, Parking Enforcement and Hertford Theatre. The ability to learn quickly and work at pace is required.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day management for production of orders, debtor invoices, reconciliation for contractor payments and invoice payments
- Experience of using IT based and manual information systems with ability to update computerised databases with technical, financial and statistical information
- Shared management of a service request email shared inbox to meet service level agreement targets
- Collaborating with colleagues in Operational service areas to deliver a high standard of business development support using experience, knowledge and technical expertise
- Handling technical administrative enquiries related to Abandoned Vehicles, Aboriculture and other service area delivery
- Working with processes for consistent, standardised and efficient delivery for service areas
- Championing improvement and implement automation for efficient ways of working
- Able to think about and implementing solutions to problems that arise on a day to day basis
About you:
Candidates who are qualified in, or have a comprehensive understanding of finance and business administration, minute taking together with good Microsoft suite skills for Word and Excel will enjoy this role. Some knowledge of procurement administration would be desirable. The post holder will be happy to work on their own initiative, with accuracy and integrity and the ability to troubleshoot
This post holder will also have an amenable disposition and enjoy supporting other team members with the challenges of a performance based and target driven role
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised qualification or relevant experience in business / financial administration and project skills or evidence of equivalent training and experience
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Office suite (in particular Excel and the use of formulas, Word, and Outlook)
- Experience of a busy administration role in an office environment
- Ability to use databases and understanding of applying methodologies using various bespoke service systems
- Evidence of having worked within process and able to follow procedures
- Some knowledge of working with a map-based system
- Experience of supporting induction and training of staff
- An understanding for the requirement to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
You may have experience of the following: Business Support Administrator, Office Assistant, Administrator, Receptionist, Business Support Officer, Administration, Office Administrator, Admin Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Team Administrator etc.
