ABOUT THE ROLE

Volunteers have always been at the heart of Breast Cancer Care’s work. Whether it’s through fundraising, campaigning or directly supporting people facing breast cancer, the skills, time and energy volunteers bring makes a huge difference. As we prepare for our merger with Breast Cancer Now next spring we need an inspiring and driven manager to lead our Volunteering Team to ensure Breast Cancer Care continues to be a fantastic place to volunteer. Working with diverse teams across the UK you’ll ensure our volunteers are well supported, valued and able to develop so we can maximise the impact of their support. You’ll need to be an experienced people manager with a thorough understanding of what motivates volunteers and a creative approach to maximising efficiency without compromising quality. Your ability to communicate effectively face to face, over the phone and in writing will be matched by excellent IT and database skills. A proactive approach and can-do attitude are essential as well as the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people internally and externally.

ABOUT US

Breast Cancer Care is the only specialist UK-wide charity dedicated to providing support for people affected by breast cancer. We’re excited to tell you that in April 2019, we’re merging with the UK’s leading breast cancer research charity.

From research to care, our new charity will have people affected by breast cancer at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future. United, we’ll have the ability to carry out even more world-class research, provide even more life-changing support and campaign more effectively for better services and care.

Breast Cancer Care is an inclusive employer committed to developing a diverse workforce.

Closing date for applications: 9am, 26 November 2018

First interviews: 4 December 2018
