Job Details
The North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAAC), founded 20 years ago, provides rapid pre-hospital care needed to make a life changing difference. We operate three helicopters, flying 365 days a year with doctors and paramedics on board providing emergency medical treatment when time is critical.
NWAAC takes advanced healthcare to scene; reaching, treating and transferring patients to definitive care as quickly as possible and working collaboratively with our partners to ensure they are transferred to the best treatment centre thus improving chances of survival and reducing the risk of long term injury.
Our income generation programme is naturally an essential activity as we rely entirely on the generosity of supporters to raise the £8.5m a year we need to keep our helicopters in the air.
We are actively looking at the ways that we generate diverse and sustainable income, increased clinical work requires more money, and our ambitious plans mean we are aiming to substantially increase our income in the next few years to £12m. We are already on track to achieving this target.
The Role
Our Director of Income and Engagement therefore needs to be someone who is keen to be part of this transformational agenda, able to effect culture change and grow and shape a relatively new and highly skilled directorate to generate significant long term growth and sustainable income streams. To do this, you will need to be someone who can get the best out of people and provide the leadership and direction that a newly forming team needs to deliver great results.
The Candidate
- Strategic development and delivery of income generation
- Communication, relationship building and influencing skills
- Proven track record of successful leadership of Fundraising
- Marketing and Communications in the ‘Not for Profit’ sector
- Maximising the value of a strong volunteer workforce
- Strong team management and leadership skills of a dispersed team
