The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and day to day management of the two Governance Officers, while ensuring strong communication and information flow between the Senior Leadership Team, Trustees and Board members. You will provide focused advice and guidance relating to good practice and compliance.

Reporting to the Company Secretary, you will assist in ensuring the Board and the Senior Leadership Team are supported in all aspects of governance. Acting as the key link, you will coordinate Senior Managers, Trustees and Committee members. You will be responsible for compliance, ensuring all policies across the organisation are fit for purpose including regular reviews of the policies. In addition, you will also provide advice to staff and members regarding their Royal Charter signposting where relevant. The placed candidate will ensure that the annual general meeting is compliant with charity law and by-laws.

To be considered for this role it is essential to have substantial experience of working within Governance, supporting boards and other staff, specifically within a charity or not-for profit organisation. You are required to have experience of embedding governance best practices and you must also be up to date with compliance and charity law. You will be working closely with senior stakeholders, therefore exceptional written and verbal communications skills are required. This role is ideally suited to someone who can meet challenging goals, address underlying needs and give direction and instructions to a small team.
