Support Worker 

Hft is a national charity that’s been supporting people with learning disabilities since 1962. We put the people we support at the centre of everything we do and use our experience to work in partnership with them to provide personalised services to more than 2,500 people. 

Hft Worcestershire is recruiting Support Workers at their Shipston Road service in Stratford upon Avon. This service consists of Residential Care accommodating up to four people and Supported Living supporting five individuals on site and another service located within the area. It is ideally situated within walking distance of the centre of Stratford upon Avon. 

Position: Support Workers 
Location: Stratford upon Avon, Worcestershire 
Hours: Full & part-time available - 23 hours to 37.5 hours per week 
Hourly rate: Up to £8.12 per hour

About the role: 

As a Support Worker at Hft you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. In these roles, everything you do will enable people to have choices about their own lives, creating flexible services that meet people’s needs and always looking for the best way of doing things. 

There’s no such thing as a “typical day” for one of our Support Workers, you never know what you might end up doing. We provide support in all areas of individual’s lives including social activities such as; accessing the community, going to college, or swimming, to the cinema and their local social groups. We also support individuals to maintain their home, visit health professionals or going shopping. You may even get to accompany individuals on holiday and other activities. 

You’ll go to work knowing that you’re making a positive difference to someone’s life and be working in a team of skilled, dedicated colleagues who’ll support you all the way. 

We provide 24/7 support to some people, so this role would suit you if you like the idea of working shifts and hours that include some weekends, nights and Bank Holidays on a rota basis. Within the residential setting staff are required to undertake sleep-in duty also on a rota basis. 

About you: 

You don’t need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job - you’ll get plenty of training along the way. 

What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible. 

A full UK/EU driving licence is preferable but not essential.
