A charity are looking for a Volunteer Development Manager to be responsible for the delivery of developmental activity across key areas of a national volunteering programme.
You will lead on all aspects of the volunteer journey and volunteer involvement across the organisation, harnessing opportunities and delivering maximum impact. Initially this role will have a key focus on enhancing and expanding the Community volunteering programme.
You will also be an expert in volunteering matters across the organisation, providing support, advice and guidance to staff across the organisation, representing and advocating for best practise in volunteering and supporter engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
-Leading on the development and delivery of Community Engagement Volunteering activity.
-Developing and maintaining supportive volunteer journeys, including for Volunteer Speakers, Ambassadors and Fundraising Committees, ensuring all associated policies, procedures and resources are in place and volunteers have a great experience.
-Design and produce resources for volunteer managers to support staff to deliver a first class volunteer journey from end to end
-Ongoing development and improvement of volunteering framework including policy, process, training, data and systems.
-Supporting the team in the development and delivery of other components of our volunteering programme and to other
key audiences.
-Leading on emerging opportunities to develop new and innovative volunteering initiatives, pilots and models.
-Championing and facilitating a first class volunteer journey and experience for all volunteers. 
-Dealing sensitively with volunteering related issues and concerns in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
-Delivering regular volunteer management training days and one-to-one best practice support to volunteer managers.
-Representing volunteering across the organisation in strategic projects and working groups.

Skills and Experience required:
-Demonstrable passion for volunteering and for championing best practice in volunteering.
-Experience of leading on the delivery of volunteer journeys including recruitment, support, and recognition.
-A strong understanding of the key issues affecting volunteering and volunteer managers.
-Experience of delivering training and support to others.
-Experience of the development of policies and procedures.
-Proven project management experience.
-Experience of dealing with difficult volunteer/supporter/customer issues and handling confidential and sensitive information with
due diligence 
-Proven experience of prioritising busy and changeable workloads and conflicting priorities.
