Position: Service User Involvement Officer 
Location: New Haw, Surrey 
Contract type: Part time, Fixed term - until 31 March 2019 
Hours: 21 per week 
Salary: £13,943 actual per annum

About the role: 

The role will be support the delivery of the Technology Integrated Health Management systems (TIHM) project across Surrey, ensuring the on-going engagement of at a network of 350 people living with dementia and their carers in the delivery of an innovative project using technology to provide more responsive and effective services in monitoring and improving healthcare for people affected by dementia in their own homes and support caregivers in making better and faster decisions. 

As a Service User Involvement Officer you will support people affected by dementia living in their own homes in the installation and use of the technology and ongoing support during the lifetime of the project; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. 

The position reports to the Services Manager and will need to work closely with the TIHM project team; comprising of health and social care, the relevant universities, and technology partners as well as other key internal stakeholders. 

About you: 

We are looking for an individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers. Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills in order to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
