Job Details

Are you a driven and highly competent administrator with broader experience across IT and operations?

London's Air Ambulance's base of operations sits below the helipad on the roof of the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. The seventeenth floor is home to their Fire Crew, Pilots, Driving Standards and Helipad Operations, Data and Patient Liaison teams, as well as their team of Paramedics, Consultants, and Registrars who form our Helicopter Emergency Medical Service and Physician Response Unit.

Reporting to the Driving Standards and Helipad Manager and working closely with many others across the charity, you will adopt an active and fundamental role in creating a brilliantly functioning and tidy environment, while providing an element of continuity and communication that will enable operations to run smoothly. You will lead on the preparation of meetings, ensuring they are scheduled and that rooms are booked in advance, while also managing the teams incoming mail and fielding any calls and queries as the arise. It will be your responsibility to keep ahead of stationary stock levels for the office, kitchen and other areas including the helipad IT equipment (iPads, iPhones, laptops, and Page One alert system), while also acting as the POC for any IT issues.

This is a varied and challenging role with a steady stream of core work to be balanced against the variable demands of the day to day operations of the helipad, where no two days are ever the same.

The charity needs a competent administrator with wider ranging operational experience; essentially we are seeking a flexible, diplomatic and self-motivated individual with the confidence to work independently, while also effectively managing their workload. Experience of working within a clinical or aviation environment is not essential, however, you will need to understand patient confidentiality and be comfortable with the demands and requirements of a high-pressure emergency medical environment.

You will be working with and alongside very high performing and professional teams who work to deliver a crucial frontline service, if you feel that you have the enthusiasm, resilience and adaptability to fulfil the full remit of this role, we urge you to apply!

A full job description will be provided by Prospectus to applicants who are successful at the initial selection process.
