Campaigns Officer

A life-changing opportunity

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

Position: Campaigns Officer X 2
Location: London EC3N 2AE
Contract type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £32,908 actual per annum

Closing date: 5PM on Thursday 22nd November
Interview date: Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th December

About the role:

People with dementia face great inequity. They experience direct discrimination compared to other health conditions in the provision of, and access to, quality and affordable care and support. In society, stigma from individuals and organisations remains a major barrier to inclusion, with people with dementia at a heightened risk of isolation and loneliness.

The Campaigns Officer will play a crucial role in the Society’s big, national influencing campaigns, building public support for positive change for people with dementia, and raising the importance of dementia among key decision makers.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will be responsible for developing the plans, messaging and activities to support Alzheimer’s Society’s wider influencing campaign strategies - this includes managing our e-campaigners network.

This role will also play an integral part in engaging and motivating staff, volunteers, Society members, supporters and other stakeholders to support Alzheimer’s Society campaigns.

You will work with teams across the organisation to deliver integrated local and national activity that helps us to achieve our influencing aims, making a difference to the lives of people with dementia today and in the future.

About you:

You will have experience of developing and delivering compelling campaigns to recruit and retain supporters, and knowledge of the UK political system to ensure that Alzheimer’s Society maximises the opportunity for change.

We are looking for a proactive individual, able to build excellent internal and external relationships.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely. All contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programs to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.

Alzheimer’s Society is committed to equal opportunities.

You may have experience of the following: Campaign Officer, Campaign Manager, Campaigns Manager, Campaigns Officer, Project Management, Public Policy, Marketing, Communications, Marketing Communications, Marketing Officer, Marketing Executive, Government Policy, Charity, Charities, NFP Not for Profit, Third Sector, etc.
