Interim Programme Director
Lumos is an international non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded by J.K. Rowling. Our vision is of a world where all children have the opportunity to grow up and thrive in loving, nurturing, protective families. We believe that children belong in families not orphanages and we aim to achieve our vision by 2050. We will do this by casting light onto the causes of institutionalisation and producing high-quality, compelling evidence of our long term, sustainable solutions.
This is a vital strategic role with a remit that reaches across our programmes outside Europe. You will take responsibility for ensuring that existing programmes in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as start-up initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, are delivered to a high standard. You will ensure compliance with Lumos policy and procedure, review and set best practices and lead, manage and develop teams to drive implementation. By managing senior relationships and working closely with other departments within Lumos, you will ensure that we are sharing ideas effectively, building on our expertise and promoting our goals as an organisation more widely in the sector.
We are looking for extensive senior management experience with a demonstrable track record of achieving results. You must have proven experience of delivering and upholding child protection and safeguarding principles, backed by sound operational and financial management skills, and evidence of managing and delivering large, complex, international programmes. You must be an inspiring team leader, a strong strategist and a relationship builder who can represent Lumos at the highest levels and work effectively with governments, international organisations, NGOs, funders and other key stakeholders. You will be comfortable working across cultures, thinking internationally while also making an impact locally.
Lumos is an equal opportunities employer.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract.
