Accountant

For over 80 years, Coram’s Fields Children’s Charity, has provided essential support for the children and families of Kings Cross and the surrounding neighbourhoods, through the provision of a seven acre park and delivery of a range of services including; an Under 5s Drop In, Nursery, Out of School Club, Sports Programme and Youth Programme.

Our curent accountant will be leaving us at the end of December and we are looking to appoint a qualified accountant, with significant experience of charity accounting to take on this key role within the Charity.

Coram’s Fields curent turnover is around 1.6 million, with income drawn from a range of sources including; restricted grants, service based fees, donations and rental income.

The successful candidate will form a key part of our finance team, working alongside our Finance Officer and Finance Assistant to ensure the effective implementation of financial management systems. They will also be responsible for providing direct support to our CEO and Board of Directors to ensure strong financial governance, through the provision of high quality financial reporting, whilst also working with budget holders across the organisation, to support the management of their respective service budgets. 

Whilst the role is for a minimum of half a day a week, hours do vary subject to the time of year. During the pre and post audit period, hours are significantly higher. For this reason, the successful candidate will need to have a large degree of flexibility although, time commitments will be agreed well in advance.
