Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We work to give every child the same chance in life.

We are looking for a Director of Communications, Campaigns and UK Programmes to join our senior team, through its sophisticated and innovative portfolio of programmes across 51 countries.

In this role, you will provide clear leadership, collaborative engagement, vision and strategic direction to the Communications and Girls’ Rights and Youth teams, as well as ensuring deep and effective relationships with our partners, stakeholders and the wider organisation.

You will strategically engage with target audiences to raise awareness and support for our work including our child sponsorship programme. This will include directing strategic communications, media and brand management and our digital offering; leading campaigning and advocacy work with UK audiences on girls’ rights in the UK and internationally and drive the development of UK girls’ programming.

You will need to have significant experience of leading communications and campaigning in an organisation addressing complex and challenging issues, and of leading strategic engagement with large institutions   A passionate advocate for children’s rights and in particular equality for girls, you will be able to act as a spokesperson and senior influencer, representing the organisation at the highest level and communicating complex and sensitive issues.
